A group, Coalition of Civil Society for Public Service Accountability and Good Governance (CCSPSAG) has called for accountability, due diligence, and transparency in the handling of phase two of the electronic Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (e-NSITF) concessionaire.
LEADERSHIP reports that the infrastructure upgrade of phase two e-NSITF which cost N15 billion was approved by the federal government as phase one has minimal infrastructure and cloud activity.
The convener of the coalition, Comrade Danjuma Caleb Ure, in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to monitor the handling of the project to be handled by the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige.
He argued that the price tag on e-NSITF was bloated adding that efforts must be made to avert fraud practices in handling the project.
Ure also said that NECA was not carried along in the process.
He said a minister ought not to handle a concessionaire of infrastructure for a parastatal whose major contribution is from a private organisation that is meant for employees’ compensation in case of injury and death.
According to him “NECA was not carried along in this inglorious journey. The EFCC and ICPC are put on notice that at the last NSITF management board meeting e-NSITF was not approved.”
