The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain (NCCC) Corps, a faith-based paramilitary and humanitarian organisation, has expressed concern over the prevailing security challenges facing the country, and advocated for a combination of prayers and military warfare to ease the problem.
The organisation committed to providing spiritual guidance, security support and community engagement, therefore, extended it’s hands of fellowship to various religious culture to align in order to salvage the country through interfaith prayer campaigns.
The Corps Commanding Officer of the the NCCC, Chaplain Daniel Joe Alimi, made the call in a communique made available to newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday.
Alimi noted that Nigeria’s transformation is not only a political process, but a spiritual responsibility, adding that “national restoration becomes inevitable for Nigeria when Nigerians align their hearts with God and actions with purpose.”
“Nigeria’s transformation is not just a political process—it is a spiritual responsibility. When we align our hearts with God and our actions with purpose, national restoration becomes inevitable for Nigeria is a sovereign nation under God as it was clearly enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” he stressed.
Highlighting the achievements of the Corps under Chaplain Alimi’s watch as the commanding officer, the communique pointed to spirtual reawakening, noting that his advocacy reflects a strong conviction that Nigeria can rise above its challenges through a combination of spiritual revival and strategic leadership.
”In a time when Nigeria continues to navigate complex security and moral challenges, one voice has steadily emerged at the intersection of faith, patriotism, and national service, and that’s Chaplain Alimi, the Corps Commanding Officer of the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps (NCCC).
”With a clear mandate rooted in spiritual responsibility and national consciousness, he has committed his leadership to fostering unity, moral discipline, and inter-agency collaboration across the country.
”Under his direction, the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has grown into a faith-driven institution actively supporting peace-building efforts and complementing national security structures through spiritual intelligence and community engagement.
”He is widely recognized for convening the National Security Prayer Summit, a strategic gathering that brings together top security personnel, government officials, religious leaders, and stakeholders to address Nigeria’s security concerns through both spiritual and practical frameworks. The summit has become a notable platform advocating for divine intervention alongside institutional responsibility in tackling insecurity
