A couple, Mr Yohanna and Juliet Thomas, have lost their lives in a fatal accident along the Keffi-Abuja expressway.
The couple’s 7-year-old son, Destiny Thomas, also died in the crash involving a J5 bus and tricycle (Keke NAPEP).
LEADERSHIP Weekend also gathered that the couple’s two-month-old baby, Desire Mbekyosoh Thomas, is in critical condition at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi.
The accident also claimed the life of the tricycle rider whose name could not be ascertained.
A family member, Mr Emmanuel Cheto, told our correspondent that the couple and their two children boarded the tricycle from the popular Total Bus Stop in Keffi town, Keffi local government area of Nasarawa State to Angwan Jakara, in Karu local government area, when the accident occurred about a kilometre after takeoff.
He said the couple were going to inspect a land acquired by the late Yuhana’s inlaw, Juliet’s father but never get to their destination.
According to his account, the J5 bus attempting to dodge a porthole hit the tricycle forcing both of them off the road at point near the popular Keffi Cattle Market.
He said in the process, the tricycle ran into an electric pole by the side of the road.
He noted that the couple, their son and the tricycle rider died instantly and the bodies recovered by the
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials who were alerted to the scene.
A flyer announcing the funeral rites said the service was scheduled for ECWA Good News Church, opposite A. A Rano filling station in Keffi on Thursday.
The final burial was also scheduled for Angwan Monday, in Gunduma village, Karu local government area the same day.
Mr Cheto confirmed that the deceased were buried Angwan Monday Gunduma village on Thursday.
