The trio were arraigned for the offence of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to sections 60 and 191 of Adamawa State Penal Code 2018 as amended.

According to the First Information Report tendered in court, the deceased who was on his way from Fadama Rake to Kala’a was attacked by violent political thugs allegedly sponsored by a prominent son of a frontline philanthropist.

The defendants, according to preliminary report, beat up the deceased until he became unconscious and was rushed to Federal Medical Centre Hong where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Ali Emmanuel, while arraigning the defendants on Monday, urged the court to read the FIR to the defendants to enable them enter their plea.

All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences when the charges were read to them.

The court presided by Chief Magistrate Uwani Danladi ordered the remand of the defendants in a correctional facility to enable the police complete investigation since one suspect was still at large.

The case file was now transmitted to Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for vetting and legal advice.

Chief Magistrate Uwani adjourned the case to 19th June, 2025.
