The management of Dangote Cement Plc donated the electrical materials to close out the lingering power outage in the affected communities which have been in darkness for some months due to unhealthy High-Tension Lines on their distribution network.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State House of Assembly commended the Cement factory, for rising to the occasion and delivering the electrical materials needed to restore power to the affected communities; fulfilling its promises after being notified of the plight of the communities.

Items donated by the Ibese Plant management led by the Plant’s head of Social Performance, Ademola Ojolowo, included 1,200 metres of Aluminium conductor steel-reinforced cable (ACSR), 20 High Tension (HT) Poles, 40 pieces of Pot insulator, and 10 pairs of tie straps.

Speaking at the event, Ojolowo explained that the decision to intervene was borne out of genuine care for the people and the desire to help mitigate the negative impact of the outage on socio-economic activities of the people. He reiterated the company’s commitment to the sustainable development of its host communities and continued collaboration on initiatives geared towards the general well being of the people.

He commended the management of DCP for coming to the aid of the communities at this critical period, and promised to continue to work for promotion of peace and tranquillity in the communities for the greater good of his people.

Reacting to the development on the floor of the Ogun State House of Assembly, the Speaker, Kunle Oluomo commended the management of Dangote Cement Plc for being sensitive to the plight of the people in its host communities, saying the House was very proud of the foremost cement company.

The Speaker made the commendation, while responding to the presentation of Adeyanju, who enjoined the Management of the company to continue in the spirt of good neighbourliness, and assured that the House would be on the same page with the company to ensure that peace reigns supreme in the host communities.
