The Dangote Group has dismissed as false a viral claim alleging that the administration of President Bola Tinubu earns revenue from every bag of Dangote cement sold in Nigeria.

The claim, widely circulated on Facebook and falsely attributed to the group’s chairman, Aliko Dangote, alleged that “Tinubu’s government takes ₦52k from every ₦1 on cement… that is ₦6,240 from every bag.” It further questioned the government’s continued borrowing despite the supposed revenue stream.

But, reacting on Wednesday, the company shared a screenshot of the post on X, labelling it “Fake,” without offering further details.
