The Southern Kaduna Progressives League (SKPL) has expressed profound delight at Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, for his “uncommon style of people-oriented governance,” particularly his recent disclosure of the State’s debt profile.
The group made this known at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday. The text was read out to journalists by the group’s chairman, Maxwell Bako Dogara.
Congratulating Governor Sani on his recent election as the chairman of the North-West Progressive Governors Forum, SKPL noted “with profound admiration the uncommon passion he deploys to every sector of state administration towards genuinely advancing the course of the affairs of the Kaduna people without any sentiments.”
The group explained that “we, for instance, commend the transparency policy of Governor Uba Sani, as demonstrated during the Town Hall Meeting,” when he gave attendees the true picture of the Kaduna economy.
The group went on to praise the governor, “with the loudest of ovations, for the way and manner he transparently set up a committee for Tudun Biri and handed over the entire millions donated in the name of the survivors.”
Turning to how the current economic hardships occasioned by the withdrawal of oil subsidy crushes Nigerians to the most-pathetic level of anguish, the group said: “Governor Sani, in a rare display of swift responsiveness, released N11.4bn as palliative to the SMEs and farmers.” They described the governor’s action as historically unprecedented and, therefore, most-praiseworthy.
While appreciating what they described as his unwavering determination to promote transparency and accountability, they expressed confidence that “this will be in the best interest of the good people of Kaduna State.”
They also touched on Senator Uba Sani’s effort in promoting religious and ethnic unity and harmony in the State.
“Most-praiseworthy is Governor Sani’s uncommon commitment to resuscitate the enviable unity of the diverse people’s of the state, reminiscent of the glorious past.
“We, in this regard, for instance, express gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his ability to end hostilities between Christians and Muslims in Kaduna State of today,” they stated.
