Dogo Urges Patience As Niger Tornadoes Begin Major Squad Rebuild

Niger Tornadoes Technical Adviser Kabiru Dogo has appealed for patience from the club’s supporters as the Nigeria Premier Football League side embarks on an extensive rebuilding project ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The experienced coach admitted that expectations should be managed following the departure of a large number of key players at the end of last season, leaving the club with the task of assembling an almost entirely new squad.

Speaking in Minna on Wednesday, Dogo acknowledged the scale of the challenge but expressed confidence that his technical crew would build a competitive team capable of making an impact during the campaign.

“We are starting a new era at Niger Tornadoes because most of the players from last season have moved to other clubs,” Dogo said.

“We have to build almost from scratch, and that is a huge responsibility. Rebuilding is never easy, but we are determined to put together a formidable team that our supporters will be proud of.”

The 2026 President’s Federation Cup-winning coach assured fans that the recruitment process was progressing well, with emphasis being placed on signing players who possess the quality, discipline, commitment and character required to represent the club.

Dogo also urged supporters to remain firmly behind the team throughout the transition, insisting that unity and patience would be vital as the club works towards establishing a strong foundation for sustained success.
