As Christians in Nigeria and world over celebrate the Easter season, the immediate past president of World Medical Association (WMA), Dr Osahon Enabulele said the season offers yet another opportunity for the citizens to imbibe the virtues of forgiveness, tolerance, love and peace.
The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe in his Easter message harped on the gift of salvation and the promise of a new beginning.
Alenkhe also sued for peace and understanding before, during and after the 2024 governorship election as he appealed to politicians to play by electioneering rules.
Enabulele on his part also prayed that the season will roll back all adversities affecting humankind with the hope of a better and prosperous citizen for all.
He said, “As we bask in the celebrations, I appeal to all citizens to use the golden opportunity of the Easter season to undertake solemn reflections, and sacrificially manifest the cherished virtues of forgiveness, tolerance, love, peace and unity.
“It is my hope that a stronger commitment to the lessons of this season, will provide the needed spark for resolution of the many challenges and conflicts that still bedevil our communities and countries , including the rising poverty level and misery index, largely due to poor governance and health inequalities and insecurity.”
