The Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDHIC) in collaboration with the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Edo State Chapter, has held a dental outreach in commemoration of the World Oral Health Day 2025 with the theme: “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind.”

The initiative was aimed at promoting oral health and providing essential services in communities in the state.

The outreach had medical teams visiting several communities including Egoro Amede, Emuhi and Ewatto. Residents of the communities received a variety of essential dental services, free teeth waxing and comprehensive dental care.

In addition to the free dental services, there was a special focus on providing free health insurance registration to vulnerable individuals in all the communities visited.

This move ensured that many people with limited access to health coverage could receive the benefits of the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme in line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s drive for improved access to affordable healthcare.
