The Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu, has regained accreditation for the 24 courses it lost during the immediate past administration in the state.
The state governor, Alex Otti, made this known during his monthly media chat, themed “Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians,” for the month of November, held in Umuahia, the state capital.
“If you have visited there recently, you will see the massive work going on, both on the roads, hostels and lecture theatres, including classrooms.
“The whole idea is to make it a ground for the proper training of teachers,” the governor added, expressing his delight over the development,” he said.
The Governor stated that the government had also completed additional buildings at the permanent site of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, which, he said, would soon be commissioned.
Otti further noted that the polytechnic had been producing refuse buckets being used by the State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA).
He explained that the state-owned institution had been very supportive of several government initiatives.
“You will be amazed that the students produced refuse buckets for the Ebonyi State Environmental Protection Agency, and those you see around your neighbourhood,” he added.
