The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated the Muslim ummah on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast and the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitr.
The Speaker, in a Sallah message through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, equally urged Muslims to internalise the lessons learnt from the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Expressing confidence that Almighty Allah has answered their prayers and supplication during the Holy Month, the Speaker said the Muslims and other Nigerian citizens should remain steadfast, determined, and patriotic for the nation to forge ahead.
He enjoined Muslims to be their brother’s keepers and render a helping hand at all times, noting that one of the lessons learnt from the Holy Month of Ramadan was that of assistance to the needy, which every Muslim should imbibe.
Speaker Abbas, while felicitating with Muslim faithful, urged them to continue to pray for Nigeria even after Ramadan is over, noting that a peaceful and prosperous nation equally needs prayers to sustain its blessings.
“We thank Allah (SWT) for making it possible for us to witness the Holy Month of Ramadan peacefully. We pray that He accepts all our acts of Ibadah. As we celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr, I enjoin Nigerians, especially Muslims, to offer prayers for the country and our leaders. Let’s also remain united as a people,” the Speaker said.
Similarly, Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated Muslim faithful across the country on the occasion of 2024 Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.
Kalu, in his Sallah message, issued by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, urged Nigerians, especially Muslim faithful to continue to devote themselves to prayers for unity, peaceful coexistence and progress of the nation.
He called on Nigerians to use the occasion to promote national integration, and continue keeping faith with the leadership of the country, assuring that the country would soon witness the type of greatness desired by citizens.
The Deputy Speaker, who stated that the efforts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to transform the economy was yielding results, also advised Nigerians to remain steadfast and united while the country’s leaders work for its progress.
Kalu said: “I congratulate all Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fast in the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebration. I call on Nigerians to use the occasion to promote national integration, and continue keeping faith with the leadership of the country, as the country would soon witness the type of greatness desired by citizens.
“The efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to transform the economy is yielding positive results. The citizens should remain steadfast and united, while the country’s leaders work for its progress. Nigeria is the only country we can call ours, hence the citizens, especially Muslims at this time, should pray assiduously for the country and its leaders and continuous peaceful coexistence.”
