The Kaduna State Police Command has intensified security measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan.
Muhammad said tactical commanders, intelligence operatives and other personnel had been deployed to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, highways and other strategic areas.
According to him, the deployment is aimed at safeguarding lives and property before, during and after the festivities.
The commissioner reiterated that the use of knockouts, fireworks and other explosives remains prohibited, warning that violators would be arrested and prosecuted.
He urged parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against using such items and encouraged residents to report offenders to the nearest police station.
Muhammad also advised residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements, persons or objects to security agencies.
He congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and prayed for peace, unity and prosperity in Kaduna State and the country.
The commissioner further wished residents a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
