The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and urged them to offer special prayers for peaceful 2027 general elections and national unity.

In a Sallah message conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker urged believers to renew their faith in Allah (SWT) and to show increased charity to the poor, the needy and the less privileged.

Abbas said the celebration symbolises total submission to the will of Allah (SWT), citing the example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He said the festival offers lessons in faith, submission and obedience to constituted authority and called for deep reflection.

“Let us remain selfless and willing to sacrifice our lives, time and resources to the worship of Allah (SWT) and service to humanity,” the Speaker said.

He charged Nigerians to pray for the nation, leaders at all levels, unity, prosperity and political stability as the country prepares for next year’s elections.
