Bayern Munich were left stunned as they conceded five times in Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The German champions went 1-0 down after 12 minutes through a strike from Omar Marmoush before Junior Dina Ebimbe doubled the home team’s lead just after the half-hour mark.
Shortly afterwards, Hugo Larsson made it 3-0. Joshua Kimmich pulled a goal back for Bayern before half-time but Frankfurt went on to extend their lead with two more goals after the break.
It is the first time in 19 years that Bayern have found themselves 3-0 down so quickly. In 2004, Werder Bremen were 3-0 up after 35 minutes.
Bayern’s unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season is in danger in Frankfurt and they risk falling further behind in the title race.
They sit second in the Bundesliga table and were three points behind surprise leaders Bayer Leveruksen heading into the match. Leverkusen are in action against third-placed Stuttgart on Sunday.
