Former Senate Leader and Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, has expressed confidence that Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, will secure victory in Saturday’s governorship election.

Ndoma-Egba, however, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the former lawmaker also urged residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election.

The APC chieftain said he was optimistic that Oyebanji would win the off-cycle governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026, citing what he described as the governor’s performance in office and developmental initiatives across the state.

“As the good people of Ekiti State prepare for the governorship poll on Saturday, June 20, 2026, I extend my best wishes to the incumbent Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, in his bid for a second term in office,” he said.

According to Ndoma-Egba, Oyebanji’s administration has recorded achievements in governance and development since assuming office, which he said have earned the governor support among residents of the state.

The former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), who frequently visits Ekiti State in his capacity as FUOYE Pro-Chancellor, said continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing projects and policies initiated by the current administration.

He expressed confidence that voters would make their choice peacefully and urged all stakeholders to work towards a credible electoral process.

He maintained that a transparent and credible election would further strengthen democratic governance in the state.
