The NIEPA DG decried that challenges, which include poor reading culture and mathematics skills, high dropout rates, low transition and completion rates persist despite various efforts at  improving basic education,

Shofoyeke, however, assured the participants that the workshop was designed to address these challenges by exposing participants to topical issues such as effective school management, instructional leadership, school culture, and stress management.

A statement made available to newsmen said that the 5-day event held  at Sa’abhi Hotel, Mararaba in Nasarawa state had in attendance head teachers, education officers, and principals from across the three geo-political zones in northern part of Nigeria, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to excel in school management.

He informed the gathering that the workshop in Mararaba, Nasarawa state was taking place simultaneously in Kano and Gombe states respectively.
