Prophet Isa El-Buba, convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria, has charged Nigerians to reject vote-buying and political inducement, as he pledged his movement’s support for Social Democratic Party presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking at an SDP gathering of party faithful in Bauchi State, the cleric congratulated the party for what he described as a peaceful and triumphant event, urging members to remain united in the quest to reposition the country.

El-Buba expressed concern over the state of the nation, lamenting that despite Nigeria’s abundant natural and human resources, millions of citizens continue to grapple with insecurity, unemployment, poverty and social injustice.

According to him, successive leadership failures have continued to deprive citizens, especially young people, of opportunities for growth, quality education and economic prosperity.

“Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources, intelligent people and great potential, yet millions still suffer from insecurity, unemployment, poverty and injustice,” he said.

The cleric said the current realities confronting Nigerians demand urgent action, stressing that the time had come for citizens to unite in reshaping the nation’s destiny.

“Now is the time we need to join forces to rewrite history. Nigeria cannot continue to go through pain, frustration and clueless leadership,” he added.

El-Buba cautioned against attempts to weaken democratic plurality, insisting that justice, equity and fairness remain fundamental to national stability.

“Nigeria cannot become a one-party state. Every system survives on justice and equity. Oppression is never the pathway to stability, and peace cannot thrive in the midst of injustice,” he said.

He announced that members of his movement would mobilise support for the SDP presidential candidate, Prince Adebayo, ahead of the next presidential election.

He said Nigerians seeking genuine national recovery must rally behind leaders committed to restoring the country’s lost values and rebuilding public trust.

The cleric also criticised vote-buying and political inducement, insisting that Nigerians had become more conscious and would no longer trade their future for temporary material benefits.

“Nobody will buy the conscience of Nigeria with money or a bag of rice. Nigerians are tired, and it is time to recover the glory of our country,” he stated.
