Ahead of the 15th August governorship election, the Osun State voters been urged to elect a purposeful, focused, innovative and visionary leader who would guarantee sustainable development and be a giant among equals.
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prince Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, made the plea in a statement he signed in Osogbo yesterday.
He said his bid to unseat the incumbent governor was driven by a commitment to responsible leadership and sustainable development and not for personal gains.
Adeyemi-Doro, who contended that Osun has enormous untapped potential that can only be realised through visionary, accountable and inclusive governance, noted that only a competent and determined person can rescue the state from the situation it has found itself in.
He urged residents to join what he described as a “movement for progress, unity and sustainable development,” saying the 15 August 2026 poll presents a choice between maintaining the status quo and embracing a future of greater possibilities.
While acknowledging the contributions of past and current administrations, the APGA candidate noted that governance is a continuum. He argued that the state now needs a new generation of leaders focused on competence, innovation, transparency and measurable results.
He said, “My aspiration is not about personal ambition or political rivalry. It is about public service and repositioning Osun for greater prosperity. This election should be seen as a defining moment for the future of our state, not a contest between personalities.”
The candidate added that, “Osun people deserve better opportunities, better governance and a renewed commitment to development.”
