The Delta State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso, has advised politicians, especially public office-holders to ensure they embark of strategic projects that would stand the test of time so that posterity would be kind to them long after their tenure in office.
Making the admonition in a speech delivered during the commissioning of Brooklyn Park Executive Multipurpose Hall at Otor-Udu, the administrative headquarters of Udu local government area of the State, the PDP chieftain applauded the local government area boss, Chief Jite Brown, for his brilliant choice of developmental projects.
While noting that the project being commissioned would go a long way in impacting positively on the lives of the people in the community for a very long time, he reaffirmed the determination of the ruling party to consolidate on the Council’s current achievements to reclaim Udu LGA as one of its strongholds in the state.
Reacting to the recent pronouncement of the Appeal Court, which ruled in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18 State House of Assembly election, the PDP stalwart said the party flag bearer, Chief Jite Brown, did not lose the election in Udu LGA, but that the ruling party lost the election to the opposition based on court ruling.
According to him: “Our son here, Chief Jite Brown, did not lose any election to APC in Udu council area, we lost the election in Udu temporarily due to court pronouncements but we are very optimistic that sooner than later we will take it back from them because Udu is going to be one of the strongholds of PDP in the state.”
He commended the council chairman Chief Brown, for executing some laudable projects in Udu, saying, “it gives me joy to see council chairmen execute projects in their communities. I commend you and want you to execute more projects within the few months you have left in the office.”
While urging other PDP local government chairmen to emulate the Udu council boss in his quest to leave behind an enduring legacy in the local government area, Chief Esiso noted that the projects would speak in their favour when they finally leave office or want to aspire to higher political offices in the state.
Earlier in his speech, the Udu local government chairman, Chief Brown, said he drew the inspiration to embark on the various projects from the MORE agenda of the present governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as a way of demonstrating that he keyed into his desire to do more for the people.
“This project Brooklyn Park/Exco Multi-Purpose Hall Building & Solar Flood Lights here at the headquarters of Udu Local Government and others to be commissioned soon are all in line with the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda towards improving the quality of lives of our people.
“The edifice,p will address accessible contact with all supervisors, an improved state of convenience for registry marriages, larger conference room for governmental meetings, amongst others.”
He assured the people of Udu Local Government that his administration will continue to bring meaningful infrastructural projects within available resources.
The Udu Council Boss thanked the people of Udu, members of his Exco, the PDP, the Ovie of Udu and Brooklyn Park United States (Their sister’s city in USA) for their support.
