Emenike Galvanises Support For Tinubu In 2027

Members of the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) have been urged to leverage the unity and peace among them to deliver President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election in the state.

The 2023 APC governorship candidate in the state, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, handed down the charge when he hosted leaders of the chapter at his residence in the state capital, Umuahia.

He told the over 2,000 leaders from the ward to the local government levels, and the state executive committee of the chapter that “it behoves every member to deliver President Tinubu in the state”.

He argued that with their numerical strength and quality they would justify the confidence the national leadership of the APC had always placed on them to deliver the party’s candidates.

“And there’s no more auspicious time to do it than now since we all have buried our hatchets and resolved to work in harmony for our common good and future,” he noted.

Emenike, who stressed that he would not run for the office again, underscored the need for the members to rally round and support whoever emerges as the APC governorship candidate in 2027.

The former chief of staff to the immediate past governor of the state, Barrister Anthony Agbazuere said all hands must be on deck to deliver the president.

The state chairman of the APC, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu expressed delight with the turn out of the members for the meeting, saying it was an indication that the party would win the next election in a landslide.

According to him: “One of the indicators of what lies ahead for the APC in the state is the influx of members of other parties in the state joining us even as we’re in opposition in the state.”

The chairman, who stressed that the members must take the message that the state must deliver the president in the election to the grassroots, lauded Emenike for his purposeful leadership of the chapter.

‎Earlier at the 2025 annual thanksgiving service of the family of Emenike at St John’s Methodist Church, Umukabia Okpula, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu lauded him for his integrity.

‎He described him as a leader with vision and character, adding that he would not forget how he stood by him before, during the nomination and primaries, and the election proper selflessly.
