A viral video on social media has captured a young man protesting alone in Abuja, holding a flag with the inscription that reads, “Hunger dey!

“Hunger dey! We must protest.” The man passionately said at the top of his voice repeatedly as he moved around with the flag.

“Enough is enough, we must protest,” he declared. “Tell the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police that Nigerians are suffering. We must protest!”

Reports suggest that the organisers of the planned nationwide protest slated for August 1 have formally requested the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to make Eagle Square available for the demonstrations.

LEADERSHIP reports that the protests, operating under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ have gained substantial traction on social media platforms. Despite the widespread support, the organisers largely remained anonymous, with no official group claiming responsibility for the organising protest.
