Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia has addressed comments from social media users who questioned the size of her neck and speculated about her health.
In a video response, the actress said she does not have any medical condition. She explained that her neck shape is a natural part of her body structure and not linked to thyroid problems, goitre or any other illness.
Idemudia said the feature runs in her family. According to her, her mother, aunties and daughter have similar necks. She stressed that it is hereditary and not a sign of poor health.
The actress also criticised the habit of linking celebrities’ appearances to illness. She maintained that she is healthy and urged people to stop making assumptions about her body. She added that she has no neck-related health issue and does not accept such claims.
She said:
“I just want to tell you people that my neck is fat, as you can see. I like food a lot; I really do. I am not a goitre case, and it is not thyroid-related. Don’t project your future sickness on me. I am not sick.
“Hello, I know some of you enjoy it when a celebrity comes online to say they are sick and starts asking for help. You people like hearing about sickness in popular people, but that is wicked and evil. Stay away from me. I do not have any sickness in my neck, and by the grace of God, anyone who wishes me that kind of sickness will go back to sender.
“As you can see, my neck is like this; it is natural. This is how my mother’s neck is, and this is how we are in my family. My daughter’s neck is the same too, even though she is still small. She is enjoying life. That is how almost all the women in my family are. We all carry it well. If you see my aunties, you will understand.”
