Ajayi died in the early hours of yesterday after a brief illness in Minna.

In a condolence message, the Etsu Nupe said the death of the veteran journalist was a great loss not only to his family or the NTA, but also to the entire Nupe Kingdom and Niger State.

Abubakar described the deceased as very humble, dedicated, diligent and committed to his duty.

“Words cannot express the rude shock and pain in losing such a compatriot in the struggle to make our society a better place,” he added.

„This death is a great loss that has robbed us of a consummate man whose patriotism and love for a better Nigeria was not in doubt,“ the royal father said.
