Family Of 9 Perish In Benue Auto Accident

Nine members of the same family lost their lives when a truck rammed into their home, killing all of them on the spot in Otukpo local government area of Benue State.

Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Benue State Command, Ngozi Ahula, who confirmed the incident through a telephone conversation, said the truck lost control due to brake failure.

An eyewitness said the unfortunate incident happened in the early hours of Thursday when members of the family were still asleep.

Also confirming the ugly incident, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Catherine Anene said the truck rammed into the residential compound at Okete Village in Otukpo Local Government Area in the early hours of Thursday, killing nine members of a family.

She said that the command has launched full investigation into the incident while pledging that further information would be made available to the media.
