‎The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man, Amos Paul, for allegedly using a hot pressing iron to burn the private part of his 10-year-old daughter as punishment for bedwetting.

‎The suspect, a resident of Unaun, Upenme in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, was arrested after the incident was reported to the police on Thursday.

‎Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the girl sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, where she is receiving treatment.

‎According to the police, detectives from the ‘A’ Division, Owo, responded promptly to the report, moved to the scene and arrested the suspect.

‎Jimoh said the case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation and other necessary action in line with established procedures.

‎Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, condemned the alleged act, describing it as cruel, inhumane and completely unacceptable.
