The Federal Government College Kaduna Old Students Association (FGCKADOSA) has donated prizes to outstanding students of the college as part of efforts to promote academic excellence and encourage students to strive for higher achievements.
The global president of the association, Fatima Ambashair Kyari, disclosed this at the 29th Speech and Prize-Giving Day of the college held in Kaduna on Saturday.
She said every prize presented during the ceremony was fully sponsored by members of the alumni association, describing the initiative as the association’s contribution to the development of its alma mater and the encouragement of academic excellence.
Kyari urged students to embrace hard work, discipline and integrity, stressing that academic success should be complemented with good character and leadership, advising graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of the college and commended the Kaduna State Government for supporting education and the institution.
Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, the chairman of the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA), Alhaji Ibrahim Abdu, said bullying and other disciplinary challenges in the school were gradually being overcome through the collective efforts of parents, the PTA and the school management.
He noted that stakeholders had strengthened collaboration to provide a conducive environment for learning and improve students’ welfare.
Abdu further commended the graduating students for recording excellent performance in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), describing the achievement as evidence of the school’s commitment to quality education.
