FIFA Agent Drew Uyi Hails Dikko, Enabulele, Fred Newton On Sportsville Honours

FIFA licensed football agent, global brand expert and stakeholder, Drew Uyi, has lavished warm congratulations to Mallam Shehu Dikko, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, and Fred Newton, following their recognition at the 6th Sportsville Special Recognition Awards.

The awards, ceremony, held weekend, at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja, brought together key figures in Nigerian sports to celebrate excellence, leadership, and transformative contributions to the sector.

Mallam Shehu Dikko, chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), emerged as one of the standout honourees of the night, receiving the highly coveted Sportsville Transformative Impact Award. His recognition comes on the back of sweeping reforms and renewed direction in Nigerian sports administration. In his acceptance speech, Dikko described the award as both an honour and a responsibility, noting that it represents “a debt that must be paid through continued dedication to the advancement of Nigerian sports.”

Similarly, Amadin Desmond Enabulele was honoured with the Sportsville Transformative Leadership Award, a testament to his impactful leadership and commitment to sports development in Edo State. His efforts have been widely acknowledged as instrumental in repositioning sports structures and empowering athletes at the grassroots and elite levels.

Fred Newton, chairman of the Edo State Football Association, was also celebrated in the Special Recognition category, for his contributions to football development and administration. His role in strengthening football structures within Edo State continued to earn commendation across the sports community.

Reacting to the honours, the London-based Drew Uyi, who is presently in Lagos, after inspecting the Warri City stadium, which is being remodelled and reconstructed by the Delta State government, through the Delta Sports Commission led by Hon. Onos Oborevwori, praised the trio for their dedication, vision, and measurable impact on Nigerian sports.

“These recognitions are well deserved,” Uyi stated.

“Mallam Shehu Dikko has shown exceptional leadership at the national level, while Enabulele and Fred Newton continue to drive meaningful change at the state level. Their collective efforts are helping to shape a more structured, progressive, and globally competitive sports ecosystem in Nigeria.”

Drew Uyi further commended the organisers of the Sportsville Awards for maintaining credibility and consistency in recognizing genuine contributors to sports development.

The 2026 edition of the Sportsville Awards saw over 20 distinguished individuals and organizations honoured across various categories, reaffirming its status as one of Nigeria’s most respected sports recognition platforms.
