The latest ranking was published on FIFA’s website.
The three-time African champions also maintained sixth position in Africa.
The Atlas Lions of Morocco, Terangha Lions of Senegal, Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Desert Foxes Algeria and Pharaohs of Egypt are the top five teams on the continent.
The Super Eagles will be hoping to improve their position on the ranking with a good performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire next month.
The 2023 AFCON will run from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
