Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his commitment to public service, pledging to build on the achievements of his administration as he responds to calls to contest the senatorial seat.

The governor made this known in Mubi while addressing stakeholders from the zone who urged him to represent them at the National Assembly after completing his tenure.

He described the appeal as a great honour and a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership.

Fintiri attributed the growing support to the strides recorded under his administration, particularly in infrastructure development and institutional reforms, which he said have positively impacted the lives of citizens.

He assured that he would not betray the trust placed in him and expressed readiness to seek his party’s ticket ahead of the election.

Addressing security concerns in the northern zone, especially in communities previously affected by insurgency, the governor emphasized that efforts toward rebuilding and recovery would be sustained.

He noted significant progress in restoring areas impacted by Boko Haram attacks between 2014 and 2015, while promising continued collaboration to ensure lasting peace and development.

In his remarks, Senator Reverend Amos Yohanna said his support for the governor was based on conviction and loyalty to his constituents.

He explained that the call for Fintiri to contest was a collective decision by stakeholders in the interest of the zone.

The senator also urged peaceful political engagement, particularly in areas grappling with insecurity, and expressed confidence in Fintiri’s capacity to contribute meaningfully at the national level if elected.

Also speaking, the member representing Song/Fufore Constituency, Wakili Boya, described the move as well deserved, noting that the governor has demonstrated effective leadership and possesses the experience required for national representation.

The event attracted top government officials and supporters from across the five local government areas, who reaffirmed their support and commitment to the governor’s senatorial bid.
