The administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commenced the construction of roads linking Kofare Layout to the 20.8-kilometre Adamawa Super Highway, marking another significant step in the government’s drive to expand and modernise the road infrastructure across the Jimeta–Yola metropolitan area.
The project forms part of the Fintiri administration’s Jimeta–Yola City Expansion Programme, a strategic urban development initiative designed to improve road connectivity, decongest existing routes, open up new areas for residential, commercial, and industrial development, and support the state’s growing population.
Upon completion, the new road network will provide residents of Kofare Layout and adjoining communities with easier access to the Adamawa Super Highway, significantly reducing travel time, improving the movement of people and goods, and enhancing economic activities within the area.
The project also reflects the administration’s commitment to sustainable urban planning and the provision of modern infrastructure that will stimulate investment, improve the quality of life for residents, and position Jimeta–Yola as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing urban centres.
Since assuming office, Governor Fintiri has continued to prioritise the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure as part of his broader agenda to accelerate socioeconomic development and create an enabling environment for businesses and invest.
