Post-Service Housing Development Limited (PHDL) has strengthened standardisation, accountability and transparency in estate governance.
The initiative was endorsed at a strategic parley between the MD/CEO of PHDL, Maj-Gen Isaiah Allison, and the chairman of the Post-Service Housing Estate Residents Associations (POHERA) on Monday at the PHDL Corporate Headquarters, Asokoro, Abuja.
Allison reiterated that standardisation of estate operations is central to PHDL’s mandate of delivering secure, well-managed and value-driven housing communities.
The acting public relations officer of Post-Service Housing Development Limited Lt. Augustina Nkeonye, in a statement, said the meeting brought together POHERA chairmen and secretaries from PHDL estates nationwide, as part of efforts to strengthen operational consistency, enhance service delivery and promote sustainable community living.
Allison announced the adoption of a joint signatory arrangement for estate accounts, describing it as essential to ensuring financial transparency and operational integrity.
He also directed the renaming of all PHDL residents’ associations to Post-Service Housing Estate Residents Association (POHERA), alongside the introduction of a unified POHERA logo and standardised letter-headed stationery to strengthen identity and coordination across all estates.
He stressed the need for consistent, up-to-date bookkeeping, noting that regular general meetings were crucial for timely feedback and active resident participation.
He also reminded POHERA executives that the two-year tenure limit for office holders must be strictly maintained, stressing that this is key to leadership renewal and accountability.
