At the closing ceremony of the Games, Seyi Oyefeso, the Executive Director of Retail Banking at First Bank, emphasized the bank’s dedication to engaging and empowering youth through positive and rewarding activities. “We will always support initiatives targeted at youth. At First Bank, we will continue to embrace programs that engage our youth positively and encourage them to invest their energies in productive pursuits,” he stated.

Oyefeso clarified that this commitment extends beyond the South West region. As a national financial institution, First Bank is positioned to support youth initiatives throughout all states of the federation. He urged the corporate sector to contribute to sports development in Nigeria, emphasizing that such collaboration would significantly enhance sporting growth nationwide. “If there’s anything that unites the nation the most, it’s sports. Therefore, it’s crucial for Corporate Nigeria to begin supporting it and to encourage well-organized initiatives,” he added.

In the inaugural South West Games, Lagos State emerged victorious, securing a total of 14 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
