The House made the call at yesterday’s plenary session presided over by the speaker, Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari. The appeal followed a joint motion of urgent public interest moved by the lawmakers representing Kiru, Bebeji and Rano constituencies and presented by the deputy speaker and member representing Kiru constituency, Hon Kabiru Hassan Dashi.

The matter was deliberated and the House adopted the motion as well as sympathised with the affected communities and prayed to Allah to prevent such occurrence in the future.

Similarly, the House received a letter from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje seeking its approval of the appointment of the chairman and reappointment of five members of the Law Reforms Commission comprising retired Justice Lawan Wada (chairman), Sadiq Garba Muhd, Aliyu Yahaya Rimi, Dr Muhd Habib Sale Minjibir, Garzali Aminu Zubairu and Barrister Hauwa Yusuf as members.

Also, the House received a report in respect of Kano State Environmental Pollution and Control Bill, 2022/1443A.H. It was presented by the member representing Takai constituency, Hon Musa Ali Kachako.
