Former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aishah Ahmad, has been appointed chairman of the Board of Trustees of BJUMP Africa, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s drive toward stronger governance and long-term sustainability.
Ahmad, a respected global financial and policy adviser who served as CBN deputy governor from 2018 to 2023, brings to the role extensive experience in financial systems management, institutional reform, governance, and public policy.
The announcement signals a new phase in BJUMP Africa’s institutional evolution, as the organisation deepens its commitment to building a sustainable platform for talent development, mentorship, and leadership advancement within Africa’s marketing and communications ecosystem.
The newly inaugurated seven-member Board comprises accomplished leaders drawn from business, finance, media, technology, and the creative industries.
Members include Bolaji Junaid, Founder of BJUMP and CEO of WHYFINITE; Taopheek Babayeju, CEO of iCentra; Immanuel Imogie, Founder of TCCo; Adaeze Junaid, Independent Director at WhyFinite; Sola Obagbemi, Head of Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta; and Deyemi Okanlawon, actor and filmmaker.
The establishment of the Board represents a strategic step toward strengthening BJUMP’s governance framework, enhancing accountability, and positioning the organisation for sustainable growth and expanded continental impact.
Speaking on the development, BJUMP Founder, Bolaji Junaid, described the inauguration of the Board as a defining moment in the organisation’s journey.
“The introduction of our first Board of Trustees marks a defining moment for BJUMP. It reflects our readiness to evolve into a stronger, more resilient institution capable of serving young professionals for generations to come,” he said.
In her remarks, Board Chairman Aishah Ahmad emphasised the critical role of mentorship, institutional integrity, and sound governance in driving national and continental development.
“At BJUMP, we believe strong institutions are built on clear values, accountability, and shared purpose. This Board is committed to supporting the organisation in unlocking Africa’s vast human capital through structured mentorship and leadership development,” she stated.
With the inauguration of its Board of Trustees, BJUMP Africa aims to strengthen stakeholder confidence, deepen strategic partnerships, and scale its flagship programmes, including the MET Stars Academy, across additional sectors and regions.
The Board will provide strategic oversight, policy direction, and institutional support to ensure BJUMP continues delivering high-impact mentorship initiatives while aligning with global best practices in governance and development.
This milestone reinforces BJUMP Africa’s position as a forward-looking platform dedicated to empowering young professionals and building a sustainable pipeline of industry-ready leaders across the continent.
