Renowned for his dedication to national development and progress of his homeland, former minister of youth and sports development, Chief Sunday Dare, has initiated yet another significant endeavor with the establishment of Black Scorpion Football Club.
Black Scorpion FC, which will be based in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, will be playing in the Nationwide League One (NLO) 1 division of the Nigerian third tier football league system.
The official unveiling ceremony is scheduled for today, April 2nd in Ogbomoso and will be graced by the esteemed presence of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, serving as the special guest of honor. The event will also witness the attendance of distinguished ex-Nigerian internationals including Mutiu Adepoju, Seyi Olofinjana, Dimeji Lawal, among others.
Chief Dare has consistently exhibited profound dedication to the development of Nigeria and the welfare of his people. Among his notable contributions are the facilitation of the refurbishment of basketball court at LAUTEH, renovation of pavilion at Soun Stadium,
Chief Dare also sponsored the training of 40 coaches abroad, donated a 30-room ensuite hostel to Ayede Polytechnic, and provided 150,000 naira in cash relief to widows, the elderly and women of the Ogbomoso Omolaso Society.
The establishment of Black Scorpion FC is another chapter in Chief Sunday Dare’s undying commitment to uplifting communities and engendering development in Nigeria.
