Kaduna State chapter of the Councillors’ Forum has applauded the peace initiative of the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, and his leadership style.
At a press briefing in Kaduna, the forum’s chairman, Hon. Auwal Sani Muhammad, said the governor’s most significant achievement was in the area of security.
He said many farmers who had fled their farms years ago have returned to their farmlands, and several primary and secondary schools that were closed have been reopened.
The forum passed a vote of confidence in the governor and its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for addressing the country’s security and economic challenges.
While pledging the forum’s support for the governor’s political aspirations in 2027, Muhammad appealed for the payment of the forum members’ 17-month salary arrears and gratuities.
In April 2023, the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission approved a review of the remuneration package for political, public and judicial office holders across the country.
In response, the Soba and Giwa local government areas have paid their councillors, while others are working on meeting their obligations.
Muhammad said that all members of the forum are supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged their unwavering support for Tinubu to ensure the success of his Renewed Hope Agenda. They also expressed similar support for Governor Uba Sani to guarantee the success of his political ambition in 2027.
