The Almuhibbah Foundation has distributed food items and cash worth millions of naira to vulnerable residents of Yalwan Duguri community in Alkaleri local government Area of Bauchi State.

At the exercise, the founder of the foundation and first lady of Bauchi State, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed, said the initiative was designed to support vulnerable members of society and put smiles on their faces while improving their standard of living.

Mrs Mohammed emphasised the importance of assisting the less privileged, urging beneficiaries to make proper use of the items in line with Islamic teachings that promote moderation, righteousness, and well-being in both this world and the hereafter.

She also advised parents, particularly mothers, to pay close attention to their children’s upbringing by instilling discipline, good morals, and leadership values that will shape them into responsible future leaders.

The First Lady further cautioned parents against allowing young girls to engage in street hawking, noting that the practice exposes them to gender-based violence and other risks that threaten their dignity and safety.

Dr Aisha urged community leaders overseeing the distribution to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability so that the support reaches all intended beneficiaries at the grassroots level.

In their separate remarks, Dr Mujtapha Abdulkadir Muhammad, Sheikh Sunusi Adam, and Imam Mahmood Isa Duguri called on community members to intensify efforts in guiding their children towards becoming responsible citizens.

They warned against immoral acts such as adultery and drug abuse, stressing the need for good morals, healthy living, and adherence to religious values. The religious leaders commended the Bauchi State First Lady for her consistent support of vulnerable groups and prayed for Allah’s abundant reward for her kindness.

Earlier, the Coordinator of the Almuhibbah Foundation, Hajiya Zahara’u Y. M. Baba, explained that the foundation is a non-governmental organisation committed to assisting vulnerable persons, orphans, and people with special needs through proceeds from its business ventures and donations from well-meaning individuals.

She added that the foundation has also provided medical assistance aimed at improving the health and well-being of beneficiaries and their children, while appealing to the public to support its activities through sadaqah and other charitable contributions.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hashimu Yakubu Kubala, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the gesture and urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items.

Items distributed during the exercise included bags of rice, detergent, wrappers, and cash support, among others.
