The IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation (IGAHAF) has broadened its reach across Nigeria, providing scholarships, healthcare support, and welfare aid to vulnerable communities.

Founded in 2020 by Anambra-born businessman Ignatius Onyeka Aguowo, the foundation has sponsored over 600 students across 13 states and covered hospital bills for indigent patients.

Aguowo, who grew up in Nibo, Anambra State, said his early struggles with poverty shaped his commitment to philanthropy.

“I know what it means to struggle. That’s why I’m dedicated to making a difference, especially in education and healthcare,” he said.

Chikezie Chiedu, co-founder of the Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Award, described Aguowo’s efforts as transformative, noting his foundation has significantly improved access to education and healthcare.

“Aguowo’s commitment to giving is remarkable. He’s not just providing relief but creating lasting opportunities for the less privileged,” Chiedu said.

Beyond scholarships, IGAHAF has renovated schools and plans to build international schools in all 36 states.

The foundation also aims to establish community hospitals and a structured welfare scheme for Nigeria’s most vulnerable.

Committed to inclusivity, IGAHAF operates beyond ethnic and religious lines, aligning with global best practices for non-governmental organizations.

“His work is a testament to selfless service, and many communities are already benefiting,” Chiedu added.

As IGAHAF expands, Aguowo remains focused on deepening its impact, emphasizing that true philanthropy is about service, not recognition.
