The Janaza (funeral prayers) for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close friends and team members of British-Nigerian boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the London Central Mosque, 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG.
According to a statement released on Saturday by Boxing King Media, the funeral service will commence at 10 a.m., and will provide an opportunity for “family, friends, and the boxing community to pay their final respects.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones,” the statement read.
Ghami, Joshua’s conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, lost their lives in a road crash in Nigeria on Monday, December 29, 2025, while traveling on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area of Ogun State.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred when the Lexus SUV in which they were travelling collided with a stationary truck. Joshua, who was also in the vehicle, escaped with minor injuries.
Their bodies were subsequently repatriated to the United Kingdom ahead of Sunday’s funeral.
The tragic incident has drawn condolences from across the global boxing community, with many praising Ghami and Ayodele’s contributions to Joshua’s career and the sport at large.
