Tyson Fury has declared he is seeking a new opponent for a November bout and has publicly called out Oleksandr Usyk, despite being under contract to face Anthony Joshua later this year.
The all-British heavyweight unification fight, targeted for November, has hit a roadblock over venue negotiations, with organizers pushing for a U.S. location over Joshua’s preference for Wembley Stadium. Both fighters have signed individual contracts for the showdown.
In a profanity-laced Instagram video posted Monday, Fury accused Joshua of attempting to withdraw from the bout.
“This will only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk,” Fury said. “Oleksandr, you’re his trainer and his sensei, and you know he is weak-minded… and that he would never fight the Gypsy King, which you have had the guts to do twice.”
Fury, who has lost twice to Usyk, addressed the Ukrainian directly: “You got the decisions last time, fair play to you. Good luck to you, let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November. The ball is now in your court… do you want to fight me this year, 2026, or are you calling it quits? Let me know because I am now looking for a new opponent.”
Usyk, the two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, currently serves as a trainer and coach on Joshua’s team, adding a complex layer to the ongoing negotiations.
