Ganduje Under Pressure To Restore Cohesion In Political Structure

There are growing concerns over alleged internal divisions within the Gandujiyya political structure, with calls on former Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to strengthen cohesion and restore inclusiveness in the movement.

The development follows an open letter by Engr. Habibu Danmadamin, who alleged that the structure had deviated from its founding ideals of loyalty and broad-based participation, describing it as increasingly centralised.

In the letter, Danmadamin raised concerns over the influence of a former commissioner for local government, Murtala Sule Garo, whom he accused of wielding considerable control within the structure and determining access to the former governor.

He alleged that the situation had led to the exclusion of some longstanding allies from key consultations, adding that engagement within the movement had declined over time.

The writer further claimed that internal communication channels had become restricted, with decision-making concentrated among a select group of associates.

Danmadamin also expressed concern over reported tensions within the wider party structure in Kano State, noting that disagreements among key stakeholders could undermine unity at various leadership levels.

He specifically referenced alleged political friction involving Senator Barau Jibrin and Abba Bichi, calling for effective internal mechanisms to address disputes and strengthen party cohesion.

He warned that failure to take corrective measures could affect the internal balance of the movement, urging a return to inclusive consultations among stakeholders.
