Cooking gas explosion on Monday killed one Mrs. Adeola Adewale at Egbe garage in Omu-aran, Irepodun local government area of Kwara State.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occurred at about 10:35pm when the deceased was preparing food for her family members.
The spokesman of Kwara State Fire Service,Hassan Adekunle,in a statement on Tuesday confirmed the incident and the death of the woman.
Adekunle added:” Cooking gas explosion killed one Mrs. Adeola Adewale on 31st October 2022, at Tebanacle 2c Area, Egbe Garage in Omu-aran Irepodun local government area of Kwara State.
“The terrible incident which eventually claimed the life of the victim woman occurred at about 10:35hrs while she was trying to prepare food for her family.
“Firemen were able to put the situation under control on time and saved the victim’s husband who had also been trapped inside the fire explosion. Furthermore, the officers took him to the hospital in order to receive prompt treatment.
“Report says, the building areas affected by the fire generated from the gas explosion were sitting room, kitchen and dining.
“Therefore, the firector, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa charged the general public, particularly women to go and learn the correct practice of using cooking gas cylinder.”
