Ghana are set to officially unveil Carlos Queiroz as their new head coach on Thursday, marking a significant step in the Black Stars’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The highly experienced tactician is expected to address the media at his unveiling, outlining his plans and vision for the national team ahead of the global showpiece.
Queiroz will not be arriving alone, as he will be accompanied by his longtime assistant, Roger De Sa, along with three additional backroom staff members to strengthen Ghana’s technical setup.
Details of his contract have also emerged, revealing a short-term arrangement that underscores the urgency of Ghana’s World Cup ambitions. The agreement will initially run for just four months.
However, if Ghana reaches the semi-finals of the tournament, Queiroz will automatically be retained as head coach on a permanent basis.
The arrangement reflects the Ghana Football Association’s results-driven approach as the Black Stars aim to make a deep run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
