Our correspondent reports that the demise of the cleric has thrown Muslims in the state, especially members of the ‘Tijjaniyya sect’ and ‘Fityanul Islam movement’ into mourning, being a major spiritual leader of the movements in the state.

The state governor Inuwa Yahaya has also expressed deep sadness over the death of the famous Islamic scholar.
Inuwa in a press release by his director general, Press Affairs, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, described the deceased as a remarkable Islamic cleric and a strong pillar of Tijjaniya “who devoted his entire life to the service of Allah and the propagation of the ideals, personality, traits and character of Prophet Muhammad.

“Sheikh Muhammadu Kobuwa’s impact on the hearts of the people, especially the Tijjaniyya followers, is truly indelible. His guidance and teachings have been a source of inspiration to many.

“His death is a huge loss, not just to Gombe State, but the entire country. It is my hope that his legacy of goodness and wisdom will be sustained by those he left behind, continuing to inspire generations to come,” the governor stated.
