Gov Alia’s Kinsmen Warn Against Blackmail

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia’s kinsmen have warned those blackmailing and making derogatory utterances against him to desist or face stiff resistance from them.

This came as the Mbangur Community Elite Coalition Forum which is Alia’s home association in a communique presented by Akpenpuun Terhide also reaffirmed their vote of confidence earlier passed on Governor Alia, emphasising that the entire Mbangur were solidly behind the governor, first as their son and brother and second, as the political  leader of the state.

“We shall continue to stand with him, by him and for him until he successfully completes his eight years as governor and beyond,” they said.

Terhide explained that Mbangur Community Elites’ Coalition Forum is a political pressure group comprising the blood-line relatives of the governor and  saddled with the responsibility of creating an enabling environment of unity, peace and security for effective service delivery by their son within his immediate community of Mbangur, Mbadede Ward, Vandeikya local government area and Benue State at large.

He said,   “We are also out to build an unalloyed support base across the state to promote, defend and protect the governor’s programmes, policies and record-breaking achievements, for successful governance and we will not hesitate to go against any unguarded utterances and acts capable of undermining his personality and office of the Governor from mischief makers.

“Having seen the good work done so far by our brother, we will work assiduously to bridge the gaps of misunderstanding, unguarded utterances, falsehood from some quarters and hope to create harmony and unity of purpose that would further benefit and develop the state. We envisage one united Benue  under the pilot-ship of Governor  Alia.

“Henceforth, the entire Mbangur Community shall distance herself from any person or group that chooses to go against Governor Alia and the good works he is doing to move Benue forward, we shall no longer condone or be silent over any act of mischief against the governor capable of undermining his personality and office from any individual or group of persons.”
