Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has charged the new Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka to champion peace, unity, and progress for the people of his emirate, the state, and the nation.
Governor Buni made the call on Monday during the official presentation of appointment letter to the traditional ruler at the Gudi Emirate Council.
Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology in the state, Professor Muhammad Bello Kawuwa, presented the letter of appointment to the new Emir on behalf of the Governor.
Delivering the Governor’s message, Prof. Kawuwa highlighted the critical role of traditional institution in fostering community development, resolving conflicts and preserving cultural heritage.
He urged the new Emir to carry out these responsibilities with fairness, dignity, and the fear of God.
The presence of top traditional and political leaders at the event underscored the significance of the Gudi Emirate in Yobe’s traditional structure and the shared commitment to support the new Emir in his leadership role.
The monarch succeeds the late Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Maiduguri Ibn Khaji, who passed away on Friday at a hospital in Abuja.
In his brief response, the new Emir expressed deep appreciation to Governor Buni for the trust reposed in him and pledged to serve with honesty, dedication, and the best interest of his people.
He called on the people of the Emirate to continue giving their maximum support and cooperation to Governor Buni in the interest of the state.
“This is our responsibility to build a new life in Gudi Emirate. We must work together to promote peace, unity and matual understanding among our people,” said monarch.
Among top traditional rulers in attendance at the presentation include the Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa as well as the Emir of Fune, Alhaji Saleh Idriss Usman, and the Emir of Shelleng, Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong.
