The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has inaugurated an iconic Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) sponsored office complex at Adamawa State University, Mubi.

The building was named after the former vice-chancellor of the university and current deputy governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletpwa G. Farauta.

Governor Fintiri performed the inauguration alongside the governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, and TETFund’s director of Research and Development/Centres of Excellence, Dr Salihu Bakari, who represented the chairman of the Board of Trustees of TETFund, Hon. Aminu Bello Masari.

The event formed part of activities marking the institution’s 16th, 17th, and 18th convocation ceremonies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Fintiri commended TETFund for its unwavering commitment to supporting tertiary education and expressed appreciation to Dr Salihu Girei Bakari, an indigene of the state, for his dedication and passion towards advancing education in Adamawa State.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the standard of education across the state.

In his remarks, TETFund’s director of Research and Development/Centres of Excellence, Dr Bakari, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his sustained interest in the educational advancement of the state.

Dr Bakari said he was delighted to be part of the ceremony, noting that his efforts towards the development of Adamawa’s institutions were part of his way of giving back to his home state.

He added that TETFund would always be willing to collaborate with progressive leaders such as Governor Fintiri to enhance the development of higher institutions in Adamawa State.
