Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed sadness over the auto crash that claimed the lives of some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a military personnel.

His chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said the governor described the incident as painful and heartbreaking, noting that the deceased were patriotic Nigerians who died in active service to the nation.

“On behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, the NYSC, and the Government and people of Kaduna State, from where some of the corps members hailed.

“These young men and women, alongside a gallant officer of our Armed Forces, paid the ultimate price while serving their fatherland.

“Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Adamawa grieves with you,” he said.

Governor Fintiri prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked God to grant their families, friends, the NYSC family, and the Kaduna State Government the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He further directed relevant government agencies to liaise with the NYSC and military authorities to provide all necessary support to the bereaved families.

“At this difficult moment, we stand with everyone affected. May the Almighty comfort the grieving and heal the wounded,” he added.
