Adamawa State government has eased the curfew in Lamurde local government area, allowing movement from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with immediate effect.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri warned that “the gesture should not be taken lightly.
“Those behind the violence have been identified and will face consequences.
The era of leniency is over; anyone breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
He, however, advised law-abiding citizens to go about their business peacefully.
“The government will protect your rights and freedoms but will not hesitate to act against troublemakers,” he said.
Humwashi Wonosikou, the chief press secretary to the governor, said his prinicipal cautioned, “You have been warned.
“The government is watching, and justice will be served. Do not test our patience,” he said.
Governor Fintiri also appealed to all parties to maintain peace and order in Lamurde.
